Plant-Based Canada’s Mission:
Educate
We aim to educate the public, health professionals and policy makers on the evidence-based benefits of plant-based whole food nutrition for individual and planetary health.
We aim to educate the public, health professionals and policy makers on the evidence-based benefits of plant-based whole food nutrition for individual and planetary health.
Plant-Based Canada, co-founded by Dr. Zahra Kassam and Michelle Fedele RD in 2019, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of humans, the environment and all its life forms.
Poor nutrition plays a significant role in our current epidemic of chronic diseases, reducing the quality and quantity of our lives, and affecting our families and our communities. Our planetary health is similarly at a crisis point, with our current food systems contributing to the destruction of our environment and loss of its biodiversity.
Plant-Based Canada stands for justice in all its forms – food, environment, animal, social, gender, poverty, and race.
The need to change our current paradigm is imperative.
To promote plant-based whole food nutrition for humans that is sustainable and the healthiest possible.
To promote the well-being of the planet and all its life forms.
To educate the public and health professionals, promote research, support and collaborate with sister organisations.
